About Me

My name is Laura Elliott. I am an educator. I am a researcher. I am a mother.  I am urbanite moving back to my country roots to teach at a small independent school nestled in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes.

Welcome to my blog. The purpose of my writing is to share research and practical musings about education, physical culture and body politics with educators, parents and students in an accessible way. My mission is to help students find embodied pleasure, joy and intrinsic motivation through education and movement as a means to promote well-being and mindful moments in a technology-driven era.

I like to find the humour in life’s many messy undertaking and I hope you find these posts amusing and informative. It is my hope that we can join in important conversations about education together.

Many thanks for visiting,
